Empower-Her initiative strengthens China–Africa cooperation for women’s leadership

UNESCO will provide strategic and technical leadership, support the identification and selection of participants, facilitate partnerships and promote the initiative through its networks. SNAEIA will lead implementation and coordination, including programme delivery and engagement with Chinese institutions.

The initiative contributes to SDGs 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 17, and supports African priorities on education, skills, innovation, entrepreneurship and inclusive development.

Through Empower-Her, UNESCO and SNAEIA aim to strengthen opportunities for women to participate in leadership and shape the future of education, technology and development, while deepening long-term China–Africa cooperation.
