From history to peace: UNESCO exhibition explores Africa’s contributions to humanity

The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany, alongside the Permanent Delegate of Angola to UNESCO, representing the host country and co-organizer of the Biennale of Luanda, and the Permanent Delegate of Senegal, Chairperson of the Africa Group at UNESCO. Historian Amzat Boukari-Yabara, commissioner of the exhibition and contributor to the latest volume of the General History of Africa, then led the exhibition tour.

In this sense, the exhibition provides a natural bridge to the Biennale of Luanda: from history comes recognition, from recognition comes dialogue, and from dialogue, the possibility of peace.
